Good stuff but CAN be upgraded

Ok, its really a good Job: its the best scratch turntable: i tried others products and this on is the best because when we scratche a song, it produce a realistic scratch and not an electronic scratch song! Just, the ergonomy of the HMI has to be reviewed for the following points: To be able to select the loop in a popup list . To be able to SET the volume of the loop song (as we can do it for the selected turntable song) . To be able to use the start-stop functions as it can be done for the elected turntable song . To be able to change the look and feel of the turnable! In a global way, some other products are designed around a simple concept: two little turnables in a same screen. Any way to do a such HMI but With the extrordinary sratch engine of the flare product?

The best, but we need more

Ive been playing with flare for months now and its great! But even if I can make the beat loop and the scratch loop Im getting frustrated: you cant really rock the house with no control on the loop!!! The strict minimum would be a on/off button for the loop... The best would be to choose the loop with a menu (or even better: a gesture) on the current loop button! For now I cant even remove the factory loops to build a static ordered loop set. Im stuck on a beat and I cant flame the dancefloor with koooool breaks :/ Id definitely pay more for those option!!! And a skin option (Im burning my eye with that much contrast...) Thanks to the dev, keep it up!

Top product

Flare is really the top "scratch" product for iPhone / iPod Touch. The latest support for accessing the library directly on the iPod is just FANTASTIC. Thanks! Keep up the excellent work. Great for the casual scratcher or vinyl junkie and just as interesting for the pro looking for an alternative interface. Top marks!

Very nice but...

I love this appli, but a different interface would be nice and the possibility to change the pitch would be awesome ! By it scratch it mix it upgrade it !

Crap

This os Crap unuseful

No recording

Too bad you can record your own voice in this app. It would be much doper

AMAZING!!!

Großartige App und qualitativ hochwertiger, als alle anderen Scratch-Apps im Store. Nur fehlt mir die Mikro Aufnahme-Funktion vom kleinen Bruder "Baby Scratch" Trotzdem 5 Sterne!!! Great App and best quality! Much better than any other Scratch-Apps in the Store. I only miss the micro-recording function from its small brother "Baby Scratch" Still 5 stars!!!! Amazing!

Dont buy

Useless terrible beats waste of money

Flare

Dude this sucked like theres no instructions and like the buttons dont make sense... It looks lik the transformers symbols. Look just dont buy it.

Very fun

Very addictive, realistic vinyl sound, ability to add your own tracks is sweet! It needs a recording function and the ability to upload your own background music as the preloads get a bit boring after awhile. Please allow us to add our own loops, this small amount of loops got boring very fast. Please!

Good fun

There are instructions out there for this app. Go to the site. It definitely has more features than Baby Scratch. But I have and am happy with both.

Really impressed

Amazing. Ive tried every scratch app out there and this is the best one. U can add your own scratch samples AND your own beats/loops. The zoom in feature is great because the scale becomes more similar to an actual 1200. I would like to see the record function from baby scratch added, but if forced to choose, uploading samples is just more versatile than direct mic recording. Also, the fader could be a bit longer. All in all, its a great app and ive actually been using it in the studio instead of Serato Scratch. How mad is that?

Zoom mode

I like the zoom feature I have this app

SImple and effective. ps instructions on uploading at Bottom of review

now i dont about you, but for me djing is half about performance, half about music. I dont think i would use this for a whole performance unless i was doing up some street beats for an MC, (it would be IDEAL for that scenario) but i could see myself switching from my OSC controller program for a minute in the middle of my set to throw a few CUSTOM scratches in. so, lets see... how would I compare, i have Torq exponent. WAy better than that. Sure, you could look at the rane serato setup, and pay 700$ for the interface lug around 2 record players and a pc... but to get the tactile interface of scratching and the appropriate oohs and ahs from Every single person ive shown this too.. definitely a five star app. sure, its a little technical, and i thing it behooves flare to write better instructions than what is given, but it maybe that they have already moved their efforts onto their flagship program, Baby Scratch. As well, some of the difficulty is innate with Ios 3.0. People with Ios 4.0 should be having no issue, please let me know.. this is going to be a godsend to any djs interested in writing tracks for scratching/mixing live. After having downloaded my own beats, i can say this might be one of my favorite apps so far. For those who have Flare and are having difficulty following their directions, Here are mine :D 1) Open up Flare scratch on your iphone/ipad, with your computer nearby. 2) Open up a web browser on your computer. 3) In Flare scratch, touch the literal record label, the middle of the record. 4) Press the + symbol, it will present you with an ip address in the form of http://192.168.blablabla write this down. 5) Enter the IP address into the web browser on your computer. 6) From this page you can browse the files on your computer to make the appropriate uploads. 7) *** Flare Scratch will NOT reflect the upload changes until you close and reopen it*** 8) After reopening, simply reclick the record label and you can scroll through the track you uploaded for scratching

scratch like a pro while in the can

This app is sooo amazing. If u like turntablism this is it! Nothing out there comes close and I heard that theyll be updating the app pretty soon. Cant wait what other tricks i can do. Baby Scratch is ok, but Flare lets u upload ur own stuff, and it feels much more like the real thing.

Alright....

Really cool app for scratching music on your library but it can be confusing and the beats are pretty bad.

good but...

This app is the first one of its kind that works the way it should that uses your ipod library. It sounds good and runs smoothly. If your looking for a dj or scratch app look no further! Kinda expensive though... And it would be great if they added the letters on the side next to the scroll bar (like on the actual ipod) when you look through the ipod library. I have 600+ songs and if the one I want to play is at the bottom it takes a sec to scroll there. It would make it easier. Thanks.

Great

Great app!! I use it with timecode(ing) with my Dj software its crazy!

Awesome!

This app fixes all the issues I had with baby scratch! However, a couple of additions would make this app PERFECT! 1) the transform button needs to be bigger or expandable like he record. It would allow us to crab scratch with more than the index finger, 2) add a sample record button. Baby scratch has it so why doesnt the paid version of this app? Other than that, the app is perfect. Torque on the platter is nice but could be slightly faster for precise chirping ;)

Samples to Get

I found these samples at (bomb hiphop) its an app and I downloaded (jerko one ultament scratch record) and it has 99 tracks packed with samples. Note it cost $9.99 Tho but its dope then I downloaded mc esoteric instrumentals like Egoclapper and Saving sahmus Ryan and ESoteric takes japan there ill tracks sick to scratch 2 and hes one hell of an Mc its all dope so check them out I had them for some time now and Im still finding ways to mix it up with all of them (PS its been 7 months and still no update baby scratch has had 2 update in the past 2 months and thats the free version I would like to see more updates are make a new dj app that has a real mixer in it that slides smooth and 2 decks so that one side u can play a loop track and the other playin scratch samples like (babydecks) for the IPhone now that would be so crazy
